Body & Sleeves started with a name my husband held onto for years, a domain he purchased with a vision he never quite got around to. When I retired and felt that familiar pull to create, that name was sitting there waiting for me. It felt like it had always been mine.
My name is Demetria, the heart and hands behind Body & Sleeves. After decades of building a life rooted in faith, family, and community, retirement gave me something I had not expected: time to pour into something that was entirely my own. I picked up a design tool, found my rhythm, and never looked back.
What drives me is simple. I believe what you wear can speak before you ever open your mouth. A statement piece carries weight. It can reflect who you are, what you stand for, where your faith lies, and what movement you belong to. Clothing is not just fabric. It is voice.

I have been in the church all my life, and as I have grown older my connection to my faith and my community has only deepened. That shows up in what I create. Whether it is a piece that lifts your spirit or one that simply says what words cannot, every design is made with intention.
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing one of my designs in the wild. Someone wearing a piece at a cookout, a church event, a rally, a Tuesday. That is the whole point.
And this is only the beginning. Creativity does not stop at a shirt. Just like a body and a sleeve, everything we create is connected, each piece part of something larger. We are growing beyond apparel, and I hope you are right here with us for all of it.
